Wendy Matthews headlines Carols on Kings

Wendy Matthews
One of Australia’s finest female vocalists will headline the free family-friendly Carols on Kings presented by Sunshine Coast Council.
Critically acclaimed and renowned pop superstar Wendy Matthews will grace the stage and capture the eyes and ears of up to 10,000 people expected to attend Kings Beach for the festive season celebrations on Sunday 18 December.
Wendy Matthews has a reputation as one of the most superb Australian vocalists, and has performed at a number of prestigious musical events. Since her debut into the music scene nearly thirty years ago, Wendy has collaborated with a number of high profile musicians including Kate Cebrano, won seven ARIA awards and released seven top selling albums.
Carols on Kings will be an evening jam packed with an exciting line up of talented performers and children’s entertainment, including a special guest appearance from Santa.
Local favourites taking centre stage include William Cleft, Starz Unlimited from the Golden Beach Dance School, Caloundra Chorale and Sunshine Coast Performing Arts Centre ‘All Starz’.
For the youngsters, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck will feature as part of the Looney Tunes Christmas Show.
Evening festivities commence with roving entertainment from 5.30pm followed by the carols program from 6.30pm.
To top off the night, a spectacular fireworks extravaganza at 8.30pm will end the evening with a colourful bang.
Bring a blanket and picnic basket, with food and drinks will be available for purchase from local community organisations. The night is an alcohol and glass free event.
