Underwater World finds its Biggest Fish "Fin-atic"

UnderWater World SEA LIFE Mooloolaba has found its biggest fish ‘fin-atic’ – a local resident who just can’t stay away from the aquarium – as it begins a year full of 25th birthday celebrations.

Sunshine Coaster Michelle Core was crowned SEA LIFE Mooloolaba’s biggest fish ‘fin-atic’ and rewarded with a lifetime of complimentary visits today (26th February) plus a special fun day and VIP behind the scenes tour.

Ms Core joined as an annual pass holder two years ago and has been visiting the attraction and their favourite animal April the Seal with her daughter Aoife every week for the past two years.

With Ms Core’s visiting the attraction weekly with her annual pass, the cost works out to be just $1.53 per visit which is less than the cost of a cup of coffee.

SEA LIFE Mooloolaba’s General Manager Craig Connor said the team wanted to thank everyone who entered and the entire community for supporting the attraction.

“We’ve had a handful of really passionate fish fin-atics enter and are inspired to see how much people love visiting the animals. We encounter so many visitors that bring their kids almost every month and it’s so exciting to find someone who brings their daughter every week of the year,”

“The attraction is also beginning to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special annual pass offer for locals this month and our biggest fish fin-atic, who visits the attraction every week with her daughter using her annual pass, proves how incredible the value is with the cost of a visit equating to small change at only $1.53 a visit,”

“We now have thousands of annual pass holders and we meet so many passionate people who are enthralled with the marine life, so we want thank and recognise our biggest fan and the rest of our community who have supported UnderWater World SEA LIFE Mooloolaba over the past 25 years.

SEA LIFE Mooloolaba will celebrate its 25th birthday this year and have a full calendar of events planned for the September celebrations.
Sunshine Coast residents have only two days left to get their annual pass at a special celebratory discounted rate of just $60 for adults and $40 for kids.

SEA LIFE Mooloolaba recently completed a two year, $6.5 million refurbishment introducing new zones, new species and Australia’s largest exhibit of jelly fish.
