6,500 Color Runners, all dressed in white running gear, completed the 5km course around the Sunshine Coast Stadium precinct today, Sunday, 12 October at the The Swisse Color Run, being showered with green, pink, purple and yellow coloured powder (food grade corn starch) as they made their way through the colourful course, turning their pristine white attire into multicoloured rainbows.
Following the fun run with a twist, there was a colour celebration at the epic ‘Finish Festival’ with music, activities and expos in a family-friendly atmosphere – not to mention the stunning color throws. Around 4,000kg of colour powder in total was used across the day.
Since this event debuted in Melbourne back in November 2012, more than 275,000 Australians have earned their stripes as ‘Color Runners’.
