Sunshine Coast produce will be beamed across Australian screens tomorrow night as popular SBS program, Destination Flavour will feature Eumundi Markets and Hinterland Feijoas, as part of a Queensland episode.
Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) assisted producers of the program with filming locations late last year.
Simon Ambrose believes the Sunshine Coast is well positioned to be a market leader in food tourism.
“We are delighted to assist this high profile program featuring a snapshot of the passionate growers of the Sunshine Coast region.
“This builds on the work SCDL is doing with our food tourism group. The region’s grower’s, produce and dining attributes are an integral part of how we market the Sunshine Coast and we are well placed to capitalise on growing demand for local culinary experiences, as part of the experience for our visitors.
Sally Hookey of Hinterland Feijoas said, “It was an amazing experience to be part of the program. Watching the series has really made me want to visit all the places Adam has featured, this is a great promotion for not only our business, but the whole Sunshine Coast.”
Recent research conducted by Tourism Australia showed that great food, wine and local cuisine was now a major factor in holiday decision making leading to the current Restaurant Australia campaign.
