Sunshine Coast Council has helped to make parking at Beerwah State School safer by contributing $200,000 to the construction of a new car park.
Division 1 Councillor, Anna Grosskreutz will officially open the new car park at Beerwah State School on Tuesday 14 February.
“Council worked closely with Beerwah State School Principal Eric Greentree and Glasshouse Country Coaches on the re-design of the car park,” Cr Grosskreutz said.
“The new car park has opened just in time for the start of the school year and it means students can walk to buses without crossing in front of vehicles.
“The changes to the car park, adjustments to road lanes and pathway upgrades mean that students won’t interact with traffic unnecessarily, and that was our main aim – to make it safer for students.
“Completion of the work means better traffic management of bus services, drop off parking zones and general parking.”
