Safety works underway on Maroochy Boulevard

28th Oct, 2014 by Charles Hodgson View News

Work is about to start to improve road safety at a local accident black spot in central Maroochydore.
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson announced today that $72,000 had been provided to improve safety and visibility on the left-hand turn slip lane into Maroochy Boulevard from the Sunshine Motorway southbound off-ramp.
Ms Simpson said that work has commenced to cut back the concrete traffic island adjacent to the slip lane and improve the visibility of vehicles travelling eastbound on Maroochy Boulevard.
To avoid daytime traffic disruptions, work will take place between 6pm and 6am, from Sunday to Friday. Temporary slip land closures and reduced speed limits will be in place.
The work is expected to be completed by 31 October 2014, weather permitting.
