Rock’n’roll tunes will fill the air with “City Limits” playing at the Mooloolah and District Family Fun Day, Sunday 16th October.
Four-piece band City Limits, which played at the Fun Day last year, will be back to entertain.
“We had a great time last year and enjoyed the atmosphere and activities,” says band member Barry Back, also Mooloolah’s Post Master.
City Limits plays regularly at venues in Brisbane and was one of the acts in a Queen Street Mall fundraiser concert for victims of the Brisbane floods. The band also performed at last year’s Suzy Connor challenge, a fun run and cycle race for breast cancer.
Back says while the members love music and enjoy playing, it’s always special to be part of community events. “We wouldn’t miss the Fun Day for anything,” he says.
City Limits plays a mix of 50s, 60s and 70s classic hits, country music and instrumentals. Besides solid musicianship, the band is known for its vocals, especially its multi-part harmonies.
Joining “City Limits” on the full-day entertainment program will be music and dance performances from the Mooloolah, Eudlo and Glenview State Schools plus Op Shop fashion parades, Deborah Dickson singing, Pete Foster’s rootsy tunes and a roaming accordion.
Sparkles the Clown will be coming for some fun in the sun. There will be lot’s of other fun entertainment for kids including the animal farm, pony rides, giant slide, jumping castles, dunking machine and face painting. There will be giveaways galore with prizes announced throughout the day at the giant raffle wheel and free plants.
Stall holder spots open – free for community and $20 for businesses – bookings close 5th October. This fun event is hosted by the Mooloolah Community Centre, Sunshine Coast Council and White’s IGA.
So soak up the tunes and have some fun at the Mooloolah and District Family Fun Day, 10am-3pm, Sunday 16th October at the Mooloolah Community Centre, 43 Bray Road, Mooloolah. Further information phone 5494 7822 or admin@mooloolahvalley.net.
