Record nominations for this year’s Sunshine Coast Business Awards

5th Sep, 2012 by Charles Hodgson View News

Organisers have received a record number of nominations for this year’s Sunshine Coast Business Awards (SCBA). Over 400 local businesses and individuals will now wait to see if they qualify as finalists before competing in 18 different award categories at the Gala Awards Presentation evening on Saturday 10 November, 2012.
After the rigorous entry assessment process is complete, the list of finalists will be officially revealed at a business networking event to be held at Lexus of Maroochydore showrooms from 5.30pm – 7.30pm on September 12, 2012.
Ross Hepworth, President of the Maroochy Chamber of Commerce said that as organisers of the awards he believed the record number of nominations demonstrated a renewed level of confidence in local business and that awards such as SCBA were highly valued by the business community.
“It’s one thing to say you’re a successful business or business person but it’s quite another to have that success qualified by independent judges and then celebrated and acknowledged by the broader community. It’s quantifiable evidence that you’re doing something right, Ross said.
“What’s really encouraging is that we’ve also seen a record number of export and innovation nominations this year. This shows that local businesses are promoting Sunshine Coast expertise and excellence to the world whilst at the same time, further strengthening our economy.”
