The Sunshine Coast business community is rallying around a young wife and mother to raise money for her family while she undergoes treatment for breast cancer.

Lara Perry, 34, her husband Trent, and 3-year-old son Braxton, were stunned when Lara was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in September this year.

Close friend James Pagliano said Lara’s diagnosis came as such a shock to her family and friends and a fundraiser has been organized to help the family out financially so they can focus on fighting the cancer and caring for young Braxton.

“I’ve been amazed at the support we have received in such a short space of time and am incredibly grateful to all of the local businesses that have supported us in some way.

Taps Mooloolaba will host the event this Saturday 20 November from midday until 5pm and Blackflag Brewery have supplied a Karma Keg of beer where all of the money raised through beer sales will be going directly to the family.

“Other local businesses have come to the fore to help out and we have over $11,000 worth of raffles and prizes to be won which have been donated by businesses such as Ikatan Spa, J Co Constructions, Samios Plumbing Supplies, Cotton Tree Meats and more.

“There will also be great raffle prizes, live music, and chief auctioneer from Ray White Buderim, Jake Loiero will be there to help raise as much money as possible,” James said.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to support the fundraising event. Donations are also welcome at:
