“The Men’s Shed has a temporary home on site at the moment; but they are in desperate need of something more permanent,” Mr Dickson said.
He added, “I have been approached by the Vietnam Veteran’s Association for inclusion in any plans; and that’s where the federal government comes in. I’ve spoken to Alex Somlyay about this, and he is more than willing to approach the federal government. And as the Prime Minister’s partner is the Ambassador for Men’s Sheds across Australia, I would look forward to support from the federal government.”
“There are also other local community organisations which would be able to make use of such an asset such as the local Billiards and Snooker club. Councillor Ted Hungerford is also offering his support for this, Mr Dickson said.
He added, “So please everyone go to the link below http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/en/work-of-assembly/petitions/e-petitions and sign petition. This would be a great asset for the local community.”
