Peregian Lions to host Appeal spectacular featuring Judy Glen

3rd Oct, 2011 by Charles Hodgson View News

Judy Glen
Acclaimed diva Judy Glen will feature at an upcoming Peregian Lions Flood ‘adopt-a-town’ fundraiser, to be held at Doonan.
The Lions Club of Peregian is gearing up to host an opera and comedy spectacular featuring renowned performer Judy Glen to raise funds for the club’s ‘adopt a town project’.
The compelling show will be held on Sunday 16 October at Doonan’s Noosa Pengari Steiner School.
All funds raised from the show-stopping event will be donated to the town of Theodore, whose residents are still rebuilding after their community was ravaged by the devastating January floods – and more precisely, to Theodore Lions Club to assist with the rebuilding of the town’s aged persons home.
The Lions Club of Peregian, which was only chartered last year, made the unanimous decision to adopt the town of Theodore following the floods to assist with the community’s recovery efforts.
The not-to-be-missed event features local Sunshine Coast resident and comic diva Judy Glen in a hilariously witty ‘one woman show’ and promises an afternoon of quirky, interactive fun.
A professional entertainer since 1974, Judy has performed at the Sydney Opera House, Covent Garden and Royal festival Hall among many venues. She toured nationally during the 1990’s with her one woman show, Spaghetti Opera.
Tickets to the Peregian Lions Flood Relief Spectacular are $25. Doors open at Noosa Pengari Steiner School, 86 Lyell Road, Doonan at 1:30pm for a 2:00pm start. Seats are limited and tickets are now on sale from Jackie Stewart on 5448 3361 or email pnewey@bigpond.net.au.
