NDTA Tennis Talk

20th Nov, 2011 by Charles Hodgson View News

Noosa District Tennis AssociationIn Mixed Division 1 final round the top 2 teams showed no mercy as they geared up for the finals. Top ranked Coolum Jazz thrashed Coolum Bits n’ Pieces (48:11) and second placed Tewanin Assassins crushed Pomona Fridge Dwellers (48:10). This sets the semi-finals in which the Jazz will host the Fridge Dwellers  and the Assassins will take on the Coolum Phoenix.
In Mixed Division 2, final round results saw Eumundi Four Players win over Cooroy Devils (38:30); Eumundi Rolling Rockers mauled club mates Eumundi Roundabouts (48:16); and Eumundi Cats Whiskers easily accounted for Tewantin Top Shots (42:15). In the semi-finals the Rolling Rockers will host the Cats Whiskers and Cooroy will take on the Roundabouts. All Mixed finals will be played at Coolum on 28th November.
The Threes division 1, final round, Coolum Gold upset the top of the ladder Eumundi Babalots (36:26). With only 3 teams chasing the pennant, I surmise that the Comets and the Gold will play off to see who will meet the Babalots in the final. The emphasis is on the word “surmise”. In Division 2, Coolum Terminators defeated Eumundi Strikers (44:18) and the Coolum Falcons defeated Hyatt Hooligans (42:33). The semi-finals will be Coolum Terminators versus Eumundi Strikers and Tewantin Comebacks versus Coolum Falcons. In Threes Division 3 final round Coolum Jets defeated Coolum X Men (34:24); Cooroy/Coolum Pirates handily overcame Tewantin Trilogy (42:13); Eumundi Latecomers defeated Tewantin Tornadoes (45:18). The semi-finals will see the Late-comers take on Cooroy/Coolum Pirates and Coolum XMen face off against Coolum Jets. In division 4 the last round provided a narrow victory to Tewantin Terminators over the Eumundi Kuzzbanes (36:33) while Coolum Blue were merciless, defeating Hyatt Heroes (48:13). The semi-finals are Coolum Blue Versus Tewantin Terminators  and Eumundi Panthers Versus Hyatt Heroes. All Threes finals will be played at Coolum on 29th November.
