Late last night, the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to Nambour Hospital to transport a 14 month old toddler who had been hit by a vehicle reversing from a driveway.
The accident happened on Wednesday afternoon and the child was originally transported to Nambour Hospital before RACQ CareFlight Rescue was called in late last night to fly the patient to specialist care.
The child suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
CareFlight retrieved a paediatric specialist team from the Royal Brisbane Hospital to accompany the child on the flight.
CareFlight’s medical team urges parents and families to be mindful of small children around cars and driveways.
