Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson visited Maleny on Friday 25th January to open a key piece of infrastructure on the Maleny Community Precinct site.
An access road and 70-space car park—located between the golf driving range and Pattemore House, and accessed via Porters Lane—is the first major infrastructure item to be delivered on the precinct as part of the approved master plan.
The Mayor was accompanied by divisional Councillor Jenny McKay and other Sunshine Coast councillors together with representatives from the various community, environmental and sporting groups at the centre of the Precinct’s plans and development.
Mayor Jamieson said he is pleased to open such an essential component of the project.
“The car park opening represents a significant milestone for the project as it delivers important access to the precincts walking paths, Pattemore House and other precinct attractions,” Mayor Jamieson said.
While in the region the Mayor also too the opportunity to visit nearby Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.”
Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay said she was pleased to celebrating a significant milestone on the precinct project.
“I’m absolutely delighted that the Mayor was in Maleny on Friday to familiarise himself with two of the current projects, the Maleny Community Precinct and the much-loved Mary Cairncross Reserve,” Cr McKay said.
