She has also held the positions of President ,Vice-President, Secretary, Hall Convenor as well as taking on the role of hall Booking Agent most years.
This year, she has continued her active role as Treasurer and the committee has welcomed Margaret’s daughter-in-law, Noelene to the role of CWA Coolum President.
At 90 years young, Margaret is also continuing her legendary fundraising afforts are, and there’s not many days in her week where she is not cooking, making craft items or running a fundraiser for one of the many committees she is active in.
A true local in every sense of the word, Margaret can boast 42 years in the same house and 51 years in total of property ownership in Coolum.
Although her husband passed on 15 years ago, her dedication to the CWA leaves little time to feel lonely. She is also well supported by her son Glen and his wife Noelene, with the couple moving to Twin Waters in 2008 following Glen’s 20 year stint in the Army.
For a woman who has given so much throughout her 90 years of life, it was fitting that she was honoured with a birthday lunch surrounded by the CWA ladies from both her local Branch and surrounding CWA districts.
Congratulations and happy 90th birthday Margaret, you are in inspiration to all who know you.
