Looking for artists to mentor emerging artists living with a disability

Sunshine Coast Council is calling artists interested in mentoring emerging artists living with a disability to attend a free information workshop at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday 10 January 2013.
If you have always had a desire to share your creative talents then the Right Back @ U Mentoring Program is for you. Come along to the workshop to learn about the benefits of being involved in this unique and inspirational initiative.
At the information session you will learn what is expected of mentors and get details about the training provided by Access Arts Inc.
The Right Back @ U Mentor Program runs over a 12 week period between 4 February to 31 May at Caloundra Regional Gallery and 8 July to 1 November at Noosa Regional Gallery.

Artworks produced during the mentoring period will be selected by the artist and mentor for submission to the gallery for exhibit. The gallery curator will select one artwork from each artist and mentor to be included in the 2013 Right Back @ U – unearthed exhibitions.

The current Right Back @ U – unearthed exhibition is on display at Caloundra Regional Gallery until 13 January 2013. The exhibition aims to unearth and celebrate the hidden talents of the region’s most active and emerging artists living with disabilities.
The Caloundra Regional Gallery is free to the public and open, Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
