Honouring Light Horsemen and their horses on Australia Day

The Maleny Troop of the 5th Light Horse Regiment’s parade through Buderim on Australia Day 2011

The Maleny Troop of the 5th Light Horse Regiment will lead the parade through Buderim, starting at 9am at Buderim Marketplace, Burnett Street, and ending at Buderim War Memorial Hall, Main Street.
The Maleny Troop has been supporting Buderim for many years and is proud to be part of its 150 years celebration.
There will be a stall / marquee at the Primary School where horse floats are parked. Visitors are invited to obtain information after the parade; riders will be happy to answer questions and kids are welcome to pat the horses.
The Maleny Troop is part of the Australian Light Horse Association Ltd, a non-profit organisation whose aim is to preserve the history and tradition of the Australian Light Horse and its predecessors. The Association is dedicated to honour the Australian Light Horse Regiments and the Light Horsemen who served their country in both war and peace.
So when you see this wonderful parade of horse and riders marching through your town remember their contribution to a peaceful Australia with pride.
