Melanie Schlanger OAM, the Sunshine Coast’s most successful Olympian, returned to her old school today, Immanuel Lutheran College.
Graduating from Immanuel in 2003, Melanie has represented Australia at two Olympic Games and is a dual gold medallist. At the 2012 London Olympics, Melanie anchored the 4 x 100 metre relay team to win Australia’s only gold medal in the pool.
“Everyone at Immanuel is immensely proud of Melanie’s achievements,” said Principal David Bliss.
“We followed Melanie’s pre-Olympic preparation and shared in her joy as her hard work paid off.
“We were pleased to be able to welcome  her back today to Immanuel Lutheran and to hear her speak with students about her Olympic success and how she has managed to achieve her goals,” said Mr Bliss.
