Sunshine Coast Grammar proudly welcomed former ACT Brumbies and Wallabies rugby centre James Holbeck to the school during the week to talk with Year 11 Christian students as well as the Grammar Rugby 1st XV, 2nds and Under 15 squads.
James played 36 Super 12 matches and has 7 Test caps for the Wallabies from 1996-2003.
Sunshine Coast Grammar School Pastor, Jon Taylor was excited to welcome the talented Rugby player who had some value lessons to teach students through his presentation titled ‘BORN TO BE GREAT – DEVELOPING A WINNING MINDSET’.
“Having spent many years in the media spotlight playing professional rugby, James was able to really set an example for students and talk about the trials and triumphs in life and how to become more resilient under pressure,” said Pastor Taylor.
James spoke about overcoming injuries and only allowing them to effect one sphere of your life, finding your true identity and how to play as a team.
James has an honours degree in psychology and is currently working with the Red Frogs group in Brisbane.
