Sunshine Coast Council wants to hear from anyone interested in conducting business from council-controlled public land. Registrations of Interest are invited until 5pm 31 August.
The information provided will guide the type of commercial activities proposed to take place at various locations – a need highlighted in last year’s review of council’s Commercial Use of Community Land policy – ahead of the community being asked to comment in September.
The results of the registration and community consultation will guide the development of a new application process to ensure it is fair and simple, and where new permits are issued before current permits expire 30 June 2013.
In March next year, all interested members of the community will have the opportunity to submit an application when the 2013 Commercial Use of Community Land application process – including the agreed locations and activities – is advertised.
The Registration of Interest from businesses is the start of the community engagement. For further information, or to register your interest, visit council’s website or one of council’s Customer Contact Centres.
