The family fundraiser for the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter is just one sleep away and dozens of excited children are looking forward to the fun night at Aussie World but to help keep this life-saving Service in the air more ticket sales are needed!
It’s the second time the family night has been held in aid of the region’s not-for-profit rescue helicopter and this year it’s been organised with the support of five public relations students from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Tomorrow, helicopter crew and the student volunteers will be getting a head start on the bag-packing, giving families a sneak-peak of the extra treats of offer.
Along with the half-price family tickets and unlimited rides, there’ll be professional face painting for a gold-coin donation, a $1 lucky-dip and at the end of the night kids can pack their own take-home Action Rescue sample-bag for just $3.
And the prize list for the fun-night’s first “monster raffle” has also been announced! Holidays and family passes to the Coast’s top attractions are all on offer, with the total prize pool valued at well over $3000. Tickets are just $2 each or 3 for $5. (Please see the detailed prize list below, final prize order yet to be confirmed)
“All the staff are really excited, many of them are coming with their own children. It’s such a great night and the community spirit last year was over-whelming, it meant so much to the crews and their families,” said Dave Donaldson, Action Rescue CEO.
“And it’s such a good deal too! It’s just $49 for a family of four, that’s half price. And there’s a huge raffle and a few other highlights for the kids for just a couple of dollars.
“We just hope the community turns out and supports us like they did last year. Many people still don’t realise the Service isn’t fully funded, when actually we rely on sponsorships, donations and charity events like this one to fund-raise $3.5 million every year!
“A fun, affordable family night out seems like a pretty good deal to ensure AGL Action Rescue can keep saving lives,” he said.
Tickets can purchased on the night. Gates open at 5:30pm, Saturday 25 May.
