Enjoy a long lunch amongst the olive groves, Slow Food Noosa style

Join Craig McCabe amongst the olive groves

In celebration of Spring and the abundance of produce it brings, Slow Food Noosa will be staging a long lunch on Sunday 7 October from 12noon-4pm. A picnic feast will be prepared by two of Noosa’s leading chefs and served alfresco style amongst the olive groves at a private property in the Obi Obi Valley. Bus transport to and from Noosa is included.
Sunshine Coast chefs, Craig McCabe from Noosa Waterfront Restaurant and Jamie Milverton from Jamie’s Gourmet will prepare a three course gourmet lunch featuring: antipasto platters with bread, olive oil, dukkah, dips and olives; shared plates of slow cooked lamb and barbecued fish accompanied by fresh seasonal salads and vegetables; and, Italian chocolate and pecan cake with fresh berries and yoghurt. Wine, beer or soft drink is BYO.
Local Peregian based guitarist, Andrew Turnbull will meander through the groves, strumming and serenading guests as they dine in Spring style.
Slow Food Noosa President, Erika Hackett encouraged interested parties to book quickly.
“Our long lunches are always incredibly popular and the bus trip only adds to the fun, she said.
“The tranquil Obi Obi Valley property where the Spring picnic will take place is the most gorgeous location that you can imagine. It is surrounded by olive groves, fruit-laden orchards, camellia bushes and even has alpacas grazing in the fields.
“When you combine these surrounds with the delicious feast that Craig and Jamie have planned for us, along with music from one of our favourite local musicians, I’d say it all adds up to the perfect celebration of Spring.”
