SEQWATER NEWS

SEQWater is planning to harvest approximately 12 hectares of exotic pine trees on their land in the coming weeks. While valued as a resource in a plantation forestry situation, SEQWater considers these trees to be a weed as they are invading and dominating natural vegetation, decreasing habitat quality and potentially increasing bush fire intensity.
The harvest operation will involve forestry machinery felling and stacking the trees within the harvest sites. This also means log trucks will be ferrying logs to Steve Irwin Way via Gympie Street North and Tytherleigh Street.
This work will occur during normal business hours and is expected to last for approximately two to three weeks. The nature of the operation will also require the closure of their reserve to the general public during hours of operation, and the track between Gympie St North and Kowald Rd will be closed for the duration of these works. If you require any further information, please contact 1800 SEQWATER or email recreation@seqwater.com.au
