The fun run with a difference, The Swisse Color Run, is coming back to the Sunshine Coast for the second year running – and 12,000 tickets are now on sale for the October 12 event.
Tourism, Sport and Major Events portfolio councillor Jason OPray expects tickets to sell fast.
“I’m thrilled to see such a wonderful event coming back to the Coast – to have this global phenomenon mark us on its calendar again is just another step towards becoming the major events capital of Australia,” Cr OPray said.
“I don’t think you’ll find another event that brings more fun to fitness than The Swisse Color Run, and I know a lot of people have been patiently waiting for ticket sales – my girls and I included.
“One of the greatest things about this event is that it’s something for all fitness levels and all ages – it’s perfect for a family day out.”
The Color Run Australia National Manager Luke Hannan said this year’s event would include new course elements.
“We’re so excited to be heading back to the Sunny Coast – last year’s event was epic, with more than 12,000 participants taking part, and we can’t wait to do it all over again,” Mr Hannan said.
“We have a few surprises up our sleeves.”
The event, dubbed the ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet’, will be staged at council’s Stockland Park and nearby Lake Kawana, and will be followed by a colourful ‘Finish Festival’.
