Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) launched their Spring intrastate advertising campaign today at Cotton Tree Caravan Park.
Working with Pacific Motor Group and Ford, the promotion will incentivise any visitor booking two or more consecutive nights at participating Sunshine Coast accommodation operators, to go in the draw to win a 2011 Ford Escape.
SCDL CEO Steve Cooper says, “It has been fantastic to see 70 local accommodation operators and Ford join with us to target visitors from the three hour drive radius of South-East Queensland. Brisbane is a crucial source market for the Sunshine Coast representing 42.9% of the market.
“This Spring campaign is designed to drive bookings through the traditionally low visitation period of mid-October to mid-December. This will also ensure our operators and destination stays top of mind for the upcoming summer season.
“The campaign will be promoted via online websites, radio, and outdoor signage on buses and the City Cat. By far, the most exciting aspect of the campaign is a strong social media focus which will allow Facebook and Twitter users the ability to forward deals and the competition to their friends, thus becoming viral. Together with the online advertising and word of mouth, the campaign is expected to also reach an interstate market” added Mr Cooper.
The expected increase in visitor nights will automatically flow on to attractions, dining, tours, retail and health and wellbeing providers across the Sunshine Coast.
