There have been various Australia Day event cancellations or changes to venue due to the inclement weather.
Chief among these changes is the Sunshine Coast Council’s Australia Day community celebration at Kings Beach which has been cancelled due to the inclement weather with featured acts appearing now at alternative venues.
Bananas in Pyjama’s and Shaun the Sheep will now appear at Stockland Caloundra Shopping Centre between 9am and 1pm and there will also be free face painting.
You can catch other colourful roving entertainers like Ked Nelly and JoJo Fudzwollop the Clown at the Kawana Shoppingworld, along with free face painting for the kids.
The Twine will entertain members and guests at the Caloundra RSL from 10.00am, and The Floating Bridges will now be performing from 12noon to 1pm at the Kings Beach Tavern.
Council is working with community groups to obtain their wet weather alternatives for Australia Day events and will update council’s website on Friday.
