2013 is a great milestone in the life of Caloundra Christian College, their 30th anniversary.
In 1978, the idea of a College was just a small seed in the mind of the Pastor at Caloundra Baptist Church and some of its members. This dream developed over many years until in 1983 when the vision became a reality.
The College doors opened for forty Primary students, with two classes established in the upstairs room at the current Caloundra CityLife Baptist Church. It was not long before the College was planning the establishment of a High School, which opened in 1984 as the student population had grown to ninety four enrolments. The College then became a model-school and a point of reference, for other towns wanting to establish their own Christian school in their community.
Now, 30 years on, the College community looks back with appreciation to the small group of faithful people who dared to dream for the next generation and their need for a Christian school in Caloundra.
College Counsellor, Mrs Lynn Woods, has been part of Caloundra Christian College since the beginning, as a parent, a grandparent and also a staff member. “From the very first day in 1983, we were here with our four children, and now our second generation continues at the College. It is a joy to see our grandchildren here, learning and building strong Christian foundations.”
