Sunshine Coast Business Associates (SCBA) were the drivers behind this exciting Christmas 2012 initiative, donating Christmas gifts for those at-risk children on the Sunshine Coast.
Members of SCBA rallied support to participate in the activity which saw two wheelbarrows full of Christmas gifts donated to SunnyKids – a charity on the Coast which supports children, young people and families.
“We are thrilled that SCBA chose SunnyKids for this generous Christmas donation. The homeless families we assist with emergency accommodation have been given back the opportunity to spend a lovely festive season with their children” says Chris Turner, CEO of SunnyKids.
Colin Mason, President SCBA adds, ‘We couldn’t get past the thought that some children would not be celebrating Christmas this year because of difficult circumstances. Imagine a child not receiving a Christmas present, or a parent not being able to provide a gift for their child. So SCBA wanted to do something for those families.’
SCBA members banded together to donate toys and games to brighten Christmas 2012 for those in need.
SCBA is a network of local business professionals whose aim is for members to build relationships to promote the services and skills offered within the group. At the same time SCBA is keen to use their strengths in the community by helping local charities.
“On behalf of the families we serve, SunnyKids says thank you to SCBA members for their generosity in helping others to also enjoy this special time of year,” Chris concluded.
