The fledgling local Brothers Sunshine Coast Junior Rugby Union Club has received a significant boost after securing a combined $400,000 grant to build change rooms, toilets, match official and first aid rooms at Stockland Park.
Brothers Sunshine Coast Junior Rugby Club spokesperson Clayton Williams said the grant was a wonderful way to conclude the club’s first year competing on the Sunshine Coast.
“We are very grateful to the State Government who contributed nearly $300,000, and to the Quad Park Corporation who contributed the balance to  ensure the project will go ahead.
“Brothers have had a great first year in the local junior Rugby Competition, we’ve fielded teams in most of the junior teams and the support we have received from the local community has been second to none.
“We will field teams from under 6 to under 16 in 2012 and we’ve also signed three major new sponsors for next season including Shadforths Civil Contractors, White Light Electrical and B Fresh at Warana so it’s all looking really positive for 2012,” he said.
Division Three councillor Keryn Jones,  who is also Chair of the Quad Park Corporation, the company that runs the Stockland Park facility, said she was very pleased that the State Government grant application was successful.
Young Wallabies in the making...
“I congratulate the club for their enthusiasm and effort in pursuing this project which will benefit not just the Brother’s Club, but other Stockland Park precinct users. The facility will be utilised during commercial and community events and will make life much more pleasant for all teams and codes playing and training on fields 5, 6 and 7. Construction will start in February next year.
B Fresh owner Belinda Wanless said she was pleased to be able to support the Club as it builds its base on the Sunshine Coast.
“We are really delighted to support Brothers Juniors, healthy living and a healthy lifestyle is what we are all about at B Fresh so it’s a great link for our business.  The club is growing rapidly and we want to be able to support young people enjoy team sports and be part of a happy, healthy community,” she said.

Congratulations to Brothers Rugby Sunny Coast!
It is also worth mentioning in this article that the Kawana Park Eagles Junior Australian Football CLub also received $400,000.00 to build players amenities on Kawana Waters State College to facilitate the school, AFL, Cricket and the community.
The Eagles were presented with a cheque at this same function that Brothers were at- so congratulations to the Kawana Park Eagles for all of their hard work paying off 🙂
