Brightwater wins second major landscaping award

22nd Nov, 2011 by Charles Hodgson View News

Brightwater - Eureka LandscapingA stunning new 1.5-hectare lakefront park in Stockland’s Brightwater community has won a prestigious Queensland landscaping award.
The win by park builder Eureka Landscapes is the second time the community has been recognised in the Landscape Queensland awards for $1 million plus projects.
The first major Brightwater park in stage one of the project also won the same coveted award for Eureka in 2009.
The latest park was designed by landscape architect AECOM and is located alongside Brightwater’s centrepiece lake.
It links the new waterway with the community’s future town centre and is already proving very popular with local families.
Brightwater - Eureka LandscapingEureka Landscapes Managing Director, Jason McGarry, said hard landscaping elements of the park, such as the playground, shelters, seating and BBQ areas, had been instrumental in the award win.
“With inclusions such as stylish timber decks, stone works, and innovative roofing, this park is a fantastic example of practical and modern outdoor entertaining,’’ he said.
“We have been working on Brightwater since it first launched and also have a long-standing relationship with Stockland.
“Great community assets such as the Lakefront Parklands are a big drawcards for anyone looking to build a new home on the Sunshine Coast.
“We also have 25 local employees working for us on the coast, which is another important benefit from the creation of communities like Brightwater.’’
Stockland Regional Manager for the Sunshine Coast, Troy Wainwright, congratulated Eureka on winning its latest award.
“We are very proud of what is being created here at Brightwater and local contractors such as Eureka play a big role in delivering our vision,’’ he said.
“Our customers recognise that Stockland communities offer the absolute best in terms of outdoor recreation, which is so important to achieving a great family lifestyle.’’
