Woo-hoo! Bindi and Robert Irwin have taken out the very green, very slimy, Hall of Slime award at the 2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Bindi and Robert took out the special award at the awards ceremony last night, pipping TV personality Rove McManus, singer Guy Sebastian, and singer and presenter Natalie Bassingthwaighte to take the title.
“This is such a cool award because when you win you get to be slimed” Robert said.
The award win has followed a ripper year for 13-year-old Bindi and 7-year-old Robert, having officially opening the new 24-acre African safari at Australia Zoo, spending time on crocodile research at the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, the release of Bindi’s new Wildlife Adventure books, and all the while spreading the conservation message and showing kids how they too can make a difference.
“It is such an honour to win the Hall of Slime award. My dad won the nickelodeon burp award in 2002 so I’m proud to be a part of the nickelodeon awards just like him” Bindi said.
