Australia Zoo awarded ‘Best Family Day Out’

21st Jun, 2014 by Charles Hodgson View News

AustraliaZooLogoAustralia Zoo was last night awarded ‘Best Family Day Out’ at the third annual What’s On 4 Junior Awards, at the Brisbane Convention Centre.
The national awards were presented by highly regarded family entertainment website What’s On 4 Little Ones, who receive over 1 million hits per year from families and individuals all over Australia.
Sponsored by Disney On Ice, a strong crowd of respected family organisations from around the country stepped out to celebrate the event.
The general public had voted online in 14 different categories, including the ‘Best Family Day Out’ which saw Australia Zoo take home the prize over a high calibre of fellow nominees – Sydney’s Taronga Zoo and Perth’s Scitech Discovery Centre.
The What’s On 4 Junior Awards celebrate excellence in children’s activities, classes, clubs, volunteers and party entertainers across Australia, as recognised by the experts – parents and parent to be. The aim of the awards is to encourage good practice, reward innovation, further raise standards and generate awareness of the fabulous activities and experts involved to make such a difference to parents and children across Australia.
Australia Zoo is proudly on the forefront of family entertainment, encouraging wildlife conservation through exciting education. Located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, they are a team of passionate conservationists working around-the-clock to deliver an animal experience like no other.
Visitors can cuddle a koala, hand-feed kangaroos, walk with a Sumatran tiger, watch a crocodile launch from the water’s edge, and much more. As one of the most interactive zoos in the world, Australia Zoo brings families from all over Australia and the globe closer to animals so they can truly appreciate them, be educated and inspired, and want to help save them.
