The Australian Labor Party has completed the endorsement of candidates for Sunshine Coast Electorates for the upcoming State Election.
Party official Peter Shooter said the Administrative Committee recently endorsed two brothers Chris and Luke Moore to contest the electorates of Buderim and Nicklin respectively.
Mr Shooter said that Chris and Luke were two of a very bright and impressive crop of young political aspirants coming through our ranks and that they would make a considerable mark on State politics if successful in winning their seats.
While Chris and Luke currently live in Brisbane, they have lifelong connections with the Sunshine Coast. Their grandfather, a former school deputy principal and grandmother, a natural therapist have lived at Coolum for most of Chris and Luke’s childhood.
“We are very connected to the Sunshine Coast, having spent most of our school holidays here, enjoying the wonderful Coolum surf and lifestyle the Sunshine Coast has to offer. It has a special place in our heart.
“We are very lucky to have this wonderful Sunshine Coast connection. And of course, this is what the Sunshine Coast truly has to offer – a wonderful family holiday destination” Luke said.
“We are very excited at the prospects of contesting the election for Sunshine Coast Electorates, as we love the area and would consider it a huge privilege to represent the residents at a parliamentary level.
“The Sunshine Coast has so much to offer. It has changed considerably in our time coming here as youngsters. While the lifestyle is wonderful, there are clearly issues of unemployment, especially youth unemployment that need attention. That would be the main focus for Chris and me if we were elected” Luke said.
