A woman stranded by flood waters and in need of urgent medical attention has been airlifted to hospital by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter.
The 62 year old Stanmore woman was suffering severe abdominal pain but was unable to be reached by road ambulance. Roads in the area have been cut due to rising flood waters and the near-by Stanley River has broken its banks.
The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter was able to land on a road bordering her property.
The helicopter’s flight doctor and flight paramedic stabilised the woman before she was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter.
