On Thursday 6 and Friday 7 October, Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP will be treating Shadow Minister Jann Stuckey MP to the good old hospitality Glass House is renowned for.
“Jann’s Shadow Portfolio covers Tourism, Manufacturing and Small Business so she will have no trouble relating to the challenges and struggles that business operators have faced on the Sunshine Coast, and specifically Glass House, in recent times.
“The January floods have impacted significantly on the tourism industry in the Hinterland region particularly, so it will be great to have Jann on hand to lend support to this industry which has struggled to find its feet,” Mr Powell commented.
Ms Stuckey will be the guest speaker at a cocktail event in Glasshouse Mountains on Thursday 6 October and then a breakfast in Maleny and a lunch in Caboolture on Friday 7 October. Mr Powell will also be taking Ms Stuckey on a tour through Montville to meet and greet local business owners.
“I am thrilled to have been invited to Glass House by Andrew and am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with local businesses and to hear first-hand the specific challenges faced by them,” Ms Stuckey said.
“Our LNP small business survey encourages operators to identify burdensome regulations and red tape so we can develop policies that will make it easier to progress tourism and small businesses in Glass House.
“This 20 year old Labor Government has made doing business in Queensland in an already tough environment even more difficult.
“Unlike Labor the LNP are committed to help the great Glass House region get going again.
“Under a Can Do LNP Government Queenslanders will power Queensland again, not politics,” Ms Stuckey concluded.
The survey is available online at www.jannstuckey.com.au and at all LNP member’s offices.
