This October, Sunshine Plaza will host a series of activities including a workshop hosted by Hayley Lewis as part of Family Week, an initiative designed to celebrate the family and assist with some of the issues they face.
From the 1st October through to 7th October Family Week will be held at Sunshine Plaza and other Lend Lease shopping centres around Australia. The centres will transform into an interactive setting that encourages families to spend quality time together while enjoying the shopping and facilities available at the centre.
As part of the program, five feature workshops will be hosted at the centre. These workshops include one by Hayley Lewis discussing the importance of family time, Surf Life Saving Australia who will share their water safety tips with a focus on key surf skills and Eve and Stephen Kerry from Sink or Swim School will talk pool and water safety for children. Midwife and mother of five, Jan Murray will talk about sleeping, feeding, nutrition and dealing with toddlers and Paediatric GP, Dr Scott Parsons will discuss how to decipher the maze of advice on rearing healthy children.
The much loved athlete, celebrity and mum Hayley Lewis will also conduct an in centre appearance. She will be present to meet and greet while also signing copies of her book: Dream Believe Create; A Women’s guide to Small Business.
The workshops are designed to educate participants on how to manage day to day issues families face and encourage dialogue between parents on how to best overcome them.
Participants have the opportunity to discuss a series of topics, ask questions in an open forum and take away key learning’s that they can put into practice in their own home.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of Family Week and celebrate families. The Family Week workshops are a great way to share knowledge and learn from others. I’m looking forward to meeting the Sunshine Plaza shoppers and hearing their stories,” Hayley Lewis said.
This will be followed by an in centre appearance by one of Australia’s most loved athletes, celebrity and mum, Hayley Lewis who will be there to meet and greet shoppers.
Sunshine Plaza, Centre Manager, Michael Manwaring, explained that Family Week strived to create a unique experience for families in the community.
“At Sunshine Plaza we aim to provide our customers with more than just a retail offering. We strive to give them an opportunity to interact with one another in a social setting.
“Family Week encourages our shoppers to take time out from their busy lives and socialise with their family and friends while at the same time learn from industry professionals and celebrities,” he said.
