Months of work by Sunshine Coast Council in partnership with Stellar Asia Pacific Pty Ltd’s has resulted in the company’s expansion into this region.
Stellar, a leading international provider of contact centre and business process outsourcing solutions was established in Australia in 1998 and employs more than 4000 staff here, in Europe, Asia and the US.
“Council has partnered with Stellar to help it establish a presence here on the Sunshine Coast,” Mayor and Economic Portfolio holder Mark Jamieson said.
“The company has chosen to locate in the new Domain complex in Maroochy Boulevard, underlining not only its confidence in the new Maroochydore Principal Activity Centre, but also the Sunshine Coast region overall.
“It also reflects council’s efforts to develop a stronger economy for the region are paying dividends.
“This is another example of the success of council’s Delivering a Natural Advantage to Business program.”
The establishment of Stellar on the Coast will deliver 190 new jobs by 2013, Mayor Jamieson said.
“I am looking forward to Stellar achieving great things here on the Coast, and the company will have our support all the way,” he said.
Stellar provides a full customer service offer including customer management, sales, help desk, back office processes, information services and much more to a broad range of clients including the Australian Taxation Office.
“The Sunshine Coast offers so many of the key ingredients we look for in finding the right location; a terrific catchment area for employees, ease of access from domestic and international airports and importantly a terrific new facility that we can purpose build for our needs,” Stellar (Asia Pacific) CEO Melissa Hamilton said.
“I would like to thank the Sunshine Coast Council and Mayor Mark Jamieson personally for their support and responsiveness as we moved quickly to secure the right location.
“We are looking forward to building long term relationships in the region.”
