If the rash of marine stinger attacks on Fraser Island wasn’t enough, the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter has flown to the aid of two French tourists, injured after the tour bus they were in hit a wash-out on the beach at Fraser Island’s Indian Head.
The Parisian couple had not yet buckled their seat-belts when their tour bus hit a sandy wash-out, sending the pair out of their seats and into the air.
They landed heavily back onto the bus’s rear bench-seat.
The 35 year old man suffered lower back injuries while his 29 year old female partner was treated by the helicopter’s flight paramedic for lower spinal and possible pelvic injuries.
The couple has only been in Australia one week.
They were airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter. Both were in a stable condition.
