Last Thursday, over 40 people attended the Maleny Chamber of Commerce 25th Anniversary celebrations. The evening was very successful, with a great atmosphere and guests enjoying the opportunity to come together, celebrate and recount some of the Chambers history and personalities.
It was great privilege to have both the founding President, Bob Clayden and 4 other past Presidents join us for this occasion.
We heard from Bob Clayden the history around how Maleny Commerce was formed and from the other Past Presidents, Rob Parker, Warwick Mills, Rod Thamm and Winston Johnston (who was also MC for the evening) on their achievement during their term as President. It was a fitting opportunity to recognise the contributions that all past Presidents have given to Maleny Commerce achieving the significant milestone of 25 years of support for the Maleny Business Community.
Both guest speakers provided attendees with interesting and entertaining addresses – Ian Dauth on his experiences in playing Rugby League along side some of the great names in this sport, and David Crewe who shared of his business experiences in England and the many direct and personal encounters with members of the Royal Family, yes even the Queen and Price Phillip.
The evening was hosted at Pomodoras Restaurant, our guests were presented a wonderful meal. The evening was capped off with a 25th Anniversary Ice-cream Cake, made and donated by Jean Cunningham of Colin James Fine Foods.
