Artisans from the Maleny Arts and Crafts Group are holding not one, but two major exhibitions of members’ work this weekend (29 & 30 Sept) at the Maleny Showgrounds.
The artists and sculptors are presenting their annual Fine Arts Exhibition on Saturday and Sunday at the MACG Centre within the Showgrounds. This is the eighth year MACG has held this popular show and over 20 leading artists will be exhibiting their most recent works. There is no entry charge to the exhibition and all works are offered for sale at very reasonable prices. During the show various painters and potters will be demonstrating their skills and will be available to talk to visitors.
On the other side of the main oval, the MACG Quilters are presenting their biannual Quilt Show with over 120 quilts and textile exhibits filling the Main Pavilion. As well as the exhibits there will be several merchant stalls, craft demonstrations all day and raffle prizes. Quilters will be on hand during the exhibition to talk to visitors about this popular craft and light refreshments will be available. There is ample parking in the Showgrounds and wheel chair access to the hall. There is a $5. entry charge.
Both exhibitions will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.. Contact Ken at MACG on 5494 2882 for further information.
