Local businesses are demonstrating their environmental commitment by throwing their support behind the Sunshine Coast Environment Awards.
Andrew Webb from WD Architects has been aware of his part in creating a sustainable future for the Sunshine Coast for many years. ‘As a member of this community I realise the impacts my choices have on this beautiful region. I’m fortunate to be in a position where I can consider both my personal and business impacts while helping others to also make the same considerations.’
‘That’s why I’ve been a sponsor of the Sunshine Coast Environment Awards (“The Froggies”) for several years now. I’m passionate about finding that delicate balance between protecting our environment and providing people with lifestyle choices that mean they can have the best of both worlds,’ says Andrew.
The Awards have been run by Sunshine Coast Environment Council for 17 years. They recognise local businesses, schools, community groups and individuals who have made significant efforts in environmental sustainability in the region.
The Awards attract a wide range of exceptional nominations each year. Nominations are open until 7 September 2012, in the categories of:
- Not for Profit Organisation
‘I’d encourage everybody in the region to participate in this great event. It’s really inspiring to hear the stories of those dedicated people and know that we’re all trying our best to preserve our way of life on the beautiful Sunshine Coast,’ says Andrew.
The Awards presentation will be held 5 October 2012 at TAFE Mooloolaba, from 5.45pm.
