Kelsie Rimmer is the winner of the song writing competition which encapsulates the relaxed and energising Sunshine Coast holiday experience.
Funded by Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL), Eleven PM Studios, Cartelux Films, Sunshine Coast Council’s smartArts+ and AMPED programs and Event Printers, Kelsie has won a recording and promotion package worth almost $10,000.
SCDL CEO Steve Cooper said, “We are delighted to be involved with this competition which has highlighted the high quality of talented artists and song writers in our region.”
The winning song ‘We’ve got the Sunshine’ was chosen to feature in our upcoming television commercial promoting the Sunshine Coast.”
Kelsie said she was inspired to write the song because she loved living here and felt connected to the Sunshine Coast.
Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said council’s smartArts+ program is committed to working with and nurturing the region’s creative and cultural industries.
“I am delighted to announce Kelsie Rimmer as the winner of this a ‘once in a lifetime’ skills development opportunity,” she said.
“With over 60 applications, the competition showed the quality of the region’s emerging and professional song writers.”

- Digital video support by Cartelux films to the value of $2,500
