Jobs on offer for Sunshine Coast

5th Oct, 2012 by View News

It can be tough as a mature-age job-seeker in the local job market.
You’re tired of getting knocked back, you are worried about whether your computer skills are up-to-date, and you worry some young thing will beat you to it – again.
Well, here’s a chance to play on an even playing-field.
And a chance to show off your credentials in customer service and much more, with a company keen to train you up, whether you are 17 or 70.
Stellar Asia Pacific, a global company with 4000 employees and assisted by Sunshine Coast Council in establishing a Coast presence, provides a full customer service including customer management, sales, help desk, back office processes, information services and much more to a broad range of clients including the Federal Government.
“Stellar actively encourages diversity in our work place,” the company’s Group General Manager Ian Morris said.
“We encourage all ages, particularly more mature age people on the Sunshine Coast to consider employment with Stellar.
“A customer focus, life experience, communications skills, reliability, a positive work ethic and a desire to learn are what we are looking for.
“Stellar invests in training and development and recognises we all have different learning styles, strengths and weaknesses. We accommodate for this in both our training phases as well as ongoing coaching and support.
“Our experience is that generally skills are relatively easy to build where the attitude, values and organisational cultural fit are a good fit.”
The company is hiring 100 new staff to start by year’s-end and will be centrally based at Maroochy Boulevard in the new Maroochydore city centre.
Stellar Career Information Sessions
Council and Stellar have also jointly organised recruitment information sessions for potential employees.
The Stellar Career Information Sessions are to be held as follows:

  • Mon 8 October Big Pineapple. Two sessions: 11.45 am – 12.45pm and 6.30pm – 7.30pm
  • Tues 9 October Lake Kawana Community Centre. One session: 11.30 am – 12.30am
  • Wed 10 October The “J”, Noosa Junction. One session: 11.30 – 12.30pm

You can register now for an information session through council’s website, www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au – and follow the Stellar Careers Information Sessions link.
