Sunshine Coast Division 10 Councillor Greg Rogerson and Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay are hosting a community forum on Tuesday 20 November to discuss how the Draft Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme may affect residents and ratepayers in the hinterland areas.
Crs Rogerson and McKay said the draft planning scheme is an important document for the region and they wanted to ensure locals who live and work in the hinterland had a thorough understanding of the draft plan.
“It is important that our residents and business operators have an understanding of how their local area may be affected,” Cr Rogerson said.
“This forum is an additional opportunity for hinterland residents to learn more about the draft planning scheme, to see the scheme and maps of the area and to talk with specialist council staff.”
“It will allow the residents and ratepayers of the hinterland to gain a clearer picture what the draft planning scheme proposes for their properties, for the future development of the hinterland and for the region,” Cr McKay said.
The Draft Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme is on public display until Friday 14 December 2012.
Council’s consultation process includes a series of local information displays held across the Sunshine Coast. The draft planning scheme can also be viewed online at council’s website at www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/draftscplanningscheme and at council offices and libraries.
