Sunshine Coast Grammar is thrilled by the news that their Head of Junior Sport Ms Maureen Cummings has placed 3rd at the World Triathlon Championships in Auckland, New Zealand today Monday, October 22.
A true sporting enthusiast, Maureen has dedicated her life to triathlon and has a real passion for helping others reach their sporting potential.
Reaching a peak as an elite triathlete in the mid ’90s, Maureen has represented Australia at the Common Wealth Games and continues to achieve impressive results.
Today being no exception, Maureen was first out of the 14.9 degrees water and second off the bike only to be passed with 200 metres to go by an American competitor.
“We are incredibly proud of Maureen’s efforts, she is not only an incredible teacher but a champion competitor and as a School we congratulate her on her outstanding performance at the World Titles,” said Maria Woods, Principal at Sunshine Coast Grammar School.
