Noosa North Shore Retreat is gearing up for three fantastic fun-filled days of Oktoberfest on September 28, 29 and 30.
Owner Dirk Olbertz hails from Germany, so you can be guaranteed it will be an authentic weekend of fun!
The Great Sandy Bar and Restaurant will convert into a German Festhause – even down to the staff who can’t wait to try on their tradition German outfits. Choose from a range of German beers on tap, including the famed Erdinger Weissbrau, to enhance the experience of all the usual Oktoberfest activities. German food is on the menu, with sausages coming from a top quality German butcher. Enjoy bratwurst with onion and sauerkraut; schnitzel with kartoffelsalat (German potato salad) and the number one most popular dish in Germany right now – curry wurst with tomato sauce. The restaurant will be dishing up other German delights, and if they don’t take your fancy you can indulge in something from the regular menu instead.
The retreat will offer free entry and live music daily. Chicken dance to the sounds of Zoltan – The Continental on Friday, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and again on Saturday, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm A four-piece traditional German Band, The Huns German Umpa Band will take the stage on Saturday, from 6.30pm to 11pm and from noon on Sunday. Aplenrosen German Folk Dance Band will close the show on Sunday afternoon.
Noosa Northshore Retreat has stepped up the transport for this special event, with a free courtesy bus running every half an hour from the ferry. The shuttle starts running from 5pm until late on Friday, then from 11am until late on Saturday and Sunday.
