Things are finally moving on the much awaited Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).
Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie has organised a public community forum to bring the community up to speed with the new plans and timeline for the public hospital.
“Exemplar Health has won the right to design, build, finance and maintain this new facility,” Mr Bleijie said.
“Work will commence on the new public tertiary hospital soon, ahead of schedule.
“This has been a hard won victory for the community led by the determined members of the SCUH Action Group.
“At the forum, residents will be able to receive a first-hand briefing from the project planning team.
“The SCUH will not only re-vitalise frontline medical services, it will provide thousands of jobs both in the construction phase and when the new hospital is opened.
“It will also link with the University of the Sunshine Coast and University of Queensland to train our nurses, doctors and allied health professionals of tomorrow.
“There will also be an update on the Ramsay Health Private Hospital, which will open in 2013.”

Date: Wednesday 15 August
