Entries are now open for the 32nd Immanuel Arts Festival. The festival continues to be recognised as the largest community event of its kind on the Sunshine Coast. Hosted by Immanuel Lutheran College, the festival will open to the public from 16-19 May and is a great opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent and increase their public profile.
This year’s feature artists are:
- Di West (Artist in Focus) specialising in painting and sculpture
- Tricia Taylor (Artist in Residence) specialising in pastels and acrylics
“Artists can enter work in a range of categories including painting, drawing, print, sculpture, mixed media, photography, wearable and creative arts,” said Convenor Sonia Parker.
“Wearable Art was introduced last year with a range of amazing garments made from recycled items including Uno playing cards and old video tape. This year, we are also excited about our new Sunshine Coast Student Art category for secondary school students in Years 10-12,” said Mrs Parker.
“2012 featured over 1,000 works of art by more than 400 artists promoting visual, creative and performance art. The festival is a brilliant opportunity for artists to unleash their creative talents and display their finest artwork,” said Mrs Parker.
