Cooroy based company, Ri-con Contractors, has scooped three prestigious Master Builder Awards, taking the ‘Best Multi Residential Development’, ‘Best Commercial/Industrial Building’ and the trade award for ‘Excellence in Carpentry’ at the Western Australian Master Builders Housing and Construction Kimberley-Pilbara Regional Awards ceremony held in Broome, late last week.

The company took out the Best Multi Residential Development $1.0m to $2.5m category for the structural design and full construction of 3 exclusive remote 5 star accommodation villas at the award winning, world renowned El Questro Wilderness Resort in the heart of the Kimberley.
Ri-con also won the Best Commercial Building $2.5m to $6.5m category for its Excellence in Construction of the satellite Renal Dialysis Centre in Kununurra, giving those in the region suffering with kidney disease the opportunity to be treated closer to home.
Jaco Botha, Ri-con’s Construction Manager accepted the awards at the Broome ceremony, saying “This is an excellent achievement that can only be gained through the outstanding skill, high quality workmanship and technical ability of our site teams who put these projects together. These awards prove without a shadow of a doubt the exceptional skills and professionalism of the carpenters, concreters, plumbers, electricians and everyone who toiled in extreme conditions to produce these outstanding projects.”
Each year Master Builders Australia acknowledges excellence in the building and construction industry through its prestigious National Awards. The Master Builders Awards showcase the quality of construction in the areas of structure, external finishes, and internal finishes. Other areas considered were value for money, project management, innovation, site management and form and function.
Ri-con is looking forward to continued success. As a regional award winner, Ri-con will now compete in the state-wide 2013 Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards for the title of ‘Best Regional Project’.
