Celebrate the spirit of Christmas at Carols at Cotton Tree

21st Nov, 2012 by View News

Come one, come all to celebrate the spirit of Christmas at Sunshine Coast Council’s free family-friendly Carols at Cotton Tree on Saturday 1 December from 6pm at Cotton Tree Park.
This free community event is jam-packed with a family friendly line up of performances that are sure to be enjoyed by all. The impressive program includes roving and children’s entertainment as well as your favourite carols performed by local musicians Cassie Hilbers, Kelsie Rimmer and Wayne Wiltshire.
The Sunshine Coast Choral Society will add to the festive spirit with traditional carols and of course there will be an appearance by our favourite bearded man in red.
Youngsters will be treated to a special Yogi’s Christmas Show performance featuring all their favourite characters who will then join Santa at the end of the night for a special Christmas finale.
Local community organisations will have food and drink for sale so bring a blanket and picnic basket (no glass or alcohol) from 4pm to secure your spot and enjoy the roving entertainment before the official carols program starts at 6pm.
Take advantage of the special event parking at Maroochydore Rugby Union Club (access via Fourth Avenue) from 4pm to 10pm as there will be some parking restrictions within the event vicinity.
The festivities will be topped off with a spectacular fireworks extravaganza at 8.30pm. If you live nearby and have a pet don’t forget to ensure they are secure for the duration of the event.
Sunshine Coast Council gratefully acknowledges its Carols at Cotton Tree supporters – Sunshine Coast Daily, Trilby Misso Lawyers, Hot 91 FM, POMO Creative and The Inkspot Commercial Printers.
These celebrations, and others from across the region, are listed in council’s Sunshine Coast Festive Season Guide 2012/13, making it easy for residents and visitors to begin planning their personal festive season calendars.
For more information on Carols at Cotton Tree, car parking or other festive season events head to council’s website to obtain your free program guide.
